Overview
The rackmount workstation moves the GPUs out of the office and into the server room, where they can be shared, backed up and kept cool, while users connect over a remote workstation protocol from a thin client or laptop. Up to four RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell Max-Q or RTX PRO 4500 Blackwell cards fit in the 4U chassis, or two 600 W RTX PRO 6000 Workstation Edition cards.
Unlike a server, it keeps workstation features: a Threadripper PRO or Xeon 6 host with certified professional graphics drivers, display outputs for a local console, and support for virtual workstation software that splits one GPU among several users. A baseboard management controller adds remote power and console like any other rack system.
It is popular with studios, engineering teams and universities that want a shared GPU lab with central management. Memory runs from 128 GB to 2 TB, storage includes eight hot swap bays, and redundant power supplies protect long jobs. Burn in and acceptance reporting are the same as for our servers.
Use cases
- Remote and virtual workstations
- Shared GPU labs
- CAD, simulation and rendering in the data center
- Media production
- Teaching labs
