Overview

An 800G fabric is only as good as its cabling, and the optics bill for a cluster is substantial, so we treat transceivers and cables as a designed part of the order rather than an afterthought. This product covers 800G OSFP transceivers in multimode and single mode, twin port 2 x 400G modules, active copper and active optical cables, breakouts, and the fiber trunks and patch cords between racks.

The usual pattern is active copper inside a rack and to the adjacent rack, active optical or transceivers with structured fiber between rows, and twin port modules where 400 Gb/s endpoints such as ConnectX-7 nodes attach to an 800G switch. Finned top modules go in switch cages and flat top modules in adapter cages, which is an easy detail to get wrong.

When you order a pod or cluster we compute the cable schedule from the rack elevation and port map, add spares, and can label every cable before shipment. Individual transceivers and cables are available for expansions and replacements, validated against the switch and adapter models we sell.

Use cases

  • Cabling 800G InfiniBand and Ethernet fabrics
  • Connecting 400G endpoints to 800G switches
  • Inter row fiber runs
  • Spares and expansions

Compare it with the next class up or down

The nearest classes we quote are the 800G Quantum-X800 InfiniBand switch and the 800G Spectrum-X Ethernet switch. If neither is quite right, tell us the workload and we specify the system between them.
