Overview
The Quantum-X800 class switch is the InfiniBand fabric for Blackwell Ultra clusters. With 144 ports at 800 Gb/s in four rack units and 115.2 Tb/s of switching, a single switch connects 64 HGX B300 GPUs at full rate with ports to spare for a spine, and a two tier design built from these switches scales to thousands of GPUs without blocking.
InfiniBand remains the first choice for training because of its in network computing: fourth generation SHARP offloads all reduce and other collectives into the switch, and adaptive routing with congestion control keeps large jobs from stalling on hot links. It pairs with the ConnectX-8 SuperNICs integrated on the HGX B300 baseboard and with GB300 NVL72 scale out ports.
We quote the switch with the fabric design, OSFP optics and cables, the subnet manager and fabric management software, and a support contract. The 2U 72 port class is available for pods that do not need the full 144 ports. Ask for the fabric design service when you order a cluster, and the port map comes with the rack elevation.
Use cases
- GPU training fabrics
- HGX B300 and B200 pods
- GB300 NVL72 scale out
- HPC interconnect

Compare it with the next class up or down
The nearest classes we quote are the 800G Spectrum-X Ethernet switch and the ConnectX-8 SuperNIC, 800 Gb/s. If neither is quite right, tell us the workload and we specify the system between them.
