Overview

Spectrum-X is NVIDIA's Ethernet platform for AI, built from Spectrum-4 class switches and ConnectX-8 or BlueField-3 endpoints that together deliver lossless RoCE with adaptive routing and congestion control. This 2U switch provides 64 ports at 800 GbE and 51.2 Tb/s, enough for a 64 GPU pod on one switch or a leaf in a larger leaf and spine fabric.

Ethernet is the right fabric when operations teams want one network technology, when multi tenant isolation and standard Ethernet tooling matter, or when the cluster is primarily for inference and storage traffic. With the Spectrum-X endpoints the performance for training collectives approaches InfiniBand, and the same switch also serves as a very fast storage and north south core.

We supply it with Cumulus Linux or SONiC, OSFP optics and cables, and a fabric design matched to your servers, with port maps delivered alongside the rack elevation. The 400 GbE leaf class in this catalog uses the same software and operating model for the frontend and storage networks.
