April 7, 2003 - Las Vegas, Nevada CMI's professional
video/broadcast division, DVEO, is introducing its new four-port,
high-density DVB-ASI PCI card, the DVB Master Q/R. "With four
ports, PC-based gateway become just as powerful as racks of
specialized video gear," stated Les Zoltan President of CMI
Zoltan went on to say; "four input ports are particularly
attractive for applications involving video servers since
many large servers ingest more than four DVB-ASI feeds simultaneously."
The DVB open standard, based on the MPEG-2 coding system,
guarantees that compliant systems will be able to work together
to ensure maximum amount of commonality. The DVB standard
allow signals to seamlessly be carried from one medium to
another, simplifying the normally complex signal distribution
environment.
The DVB Master Q/R is also of great interest to organizations
that grooms or multiplexes multiple DVB-ASI streams. The DVB
Master Q/R enables anyone to create multiplexers that combine
several bit-stream into a single multi-program transport stream.
