Professional Grade, Rackmounted, Single or Multichannel, Standard Definition, Linux® Based Analog Video to MPEG-2 Transport Stream Encoder that Integrates Inexpensive PC Bus Based Standard Definition MPEG-2 Encoders and Routes Selected Transport Streams to any MAC Address via UDP, RTP, or HTTP. Encoder supports 480i and 480p with MPEG-1 layer II audio. Can Work as a Low Cost “Catcher” in Small VOD Implementations. Typically the desired streams are streamed in real time using UDP or RTP via IP multicast or unicast streams to IP set top boxes (STB's) such as Amino, or designated VLC or MPlayer equipped PC clients for viewing. Optionally Transcodes into H.264. This content server architecture assumes you have proper IP provisioning and this type of system is typically deployed in "closed" systems where bandwidth is dedicated. It is not designed to work over the public internet.

The MAKITO is ideally suited for today's challenges and for those that can be foreseen well into the future. The MAKITO is based on the highly efficient H.264 compression standard saving over 50% of the bandwidth and disk space required by video-over-IP deployments. In addition, the MAKITO is equally proficient at standard definition (composite and s-video) as it is at all high definition resolutions and frame rates up to 1080p60. To accomplish this in a small form factor the MAKITO auto-detects the input of its single BNC connector and supports composite, SDI, HD-SDI, and 3G-SDI (the new standard for 1080p60). Today, the MAKITO can comfortably address video-over-IP encoding anywhere on a resolution / bandwidth scale from CIF at less than 256 kbps to Full HD at 15 Mbps.

Overview

 

The NCoder HD II was designed to meet the unmet needs of Military, Government, Sports Broadcast, HD videoconferencing, UAV, and News Gathering organizations who need HD at Very Low Latency. The best HD encoders on the market today can only deliver HD with approx 500 ms Delay. We offer 100 MS delay. We offer just about everything our competitors do except we do it at lower latency. In order to attain this latency we only encode the input with I and P frames. As we all know encoding B frames increases latency substantially. We differ from others in that we output DVB ASI and/or IP...

 

A recent customer is using this encoder along with well-positioned HD cameras in a Major League sports arena along with our ATSC modulator in their sky boxes. We are also in discussions with major corporations to use the HD encoder to re-encode YPrPb originated content. Of course there are many military applications. HD just provides more data in remote monitoring applications.

 

Interestingly we have just created and now declare compatibility with the Amino IP set top box. www.aminocom.com  This means you can distribute HD over IP to a multitude of inexpensive consumer priced decoders linked to inexpensive HD televisions or monitors.

 

We also have recently tested the NCoder HD to be compatible with our own 8VSB and Blonder Tongue QAM modulators. This gives you assurance of operation in a CCTV environment.
